Main cities and climate

The capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, is the seat of government and the main business centre. Limassol is the second largest city and the island’s biggest port. The city of Larnaca and the city of Paphos are both situated on the coast are popular holiday resorts. The two International Airports are situated in these two cities.

Cyprus enjoys one of the finest climates in the region with dry summers and mild winters, enjoying more than 300 warm and sunny days. January and February are the coldest months with an average temperature of 10 degrees Celcius, while July and August are the hottest with an average temperature of 30 degrees Celcius.
